     Good News!!!

My life is worth nothing to me unless I use it for finishing the work assigned me by the Lord Jesus - the work of telling others the Good News about the wonderful grace of God. Acts 20:24 (NLT)

We have Good News to share with you as we start a brand new year, 2014.  We will be having our CD ministry conference here at Rig Ministries in June 2014.    We have a great weekend planned for all the ministries & people who will be coming in!  We will start Friday night June 20 @ 6pm with a prayer and testimony service at Rig Ministries followed by our Saturday Conference  June 21 @ 10 am with Candy (Mac) McMullen as our speaker, with a free lunch provided by Rodan Transportation of Carmi to follow.  Then @ 4 pm Tony (Mac) McMullen will be our speaker!   We will conclude the weekend with a  Sunday service @ 10 am on the 22nd.  Many ministries were here last year, and we expect even more this year.  It's going to be a great time of music, testimonies, fellowship, and great food.  A time to learn how we can tie our ministries together, and strengthen each other like a three fold cord.  Over the next few month's we will be sharing with you some of the ministries that will be attending.

This month we want to highlight John Noel and Good News Distribution.  John while driving across the country listening to Christian messages found a way to give back.   John  Discovered by sharing CD's and delivering Bibles  that he could share the Good News of Christ with everyone. So in 2012 Good News Distribution was established  as a way to supply the Truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the traveling public.   Good News Distribution began setting up boxes in truck stops, stations, chapels, and travel centers across the mid-west. In these boxes they are able to distribute Bibles, CD's, Christian books, Tracts, Devotional,  Truck Stop Chapel Guides and more.

The long term goal is to distribute these resources but also to train up and equip truck drivers, truck stop employees, churches & chapels to assist in the distribution and supply of the resources for the traveling public.  Good News Distribution is looking for help!  You can actually become a volunteer in the Good News Distribution!  You can supply materials to be delivered; setup a bookshelf or a rack in your facility or like John drop off books and materials as you travel.   You can contact John Noel: 616-262-6081 or email him    Come meet John at the Rig, June 22, 2014 along with many of those you hear on the Rig CD's.  Tony & Candy McMullen,  Joe Arview, Bill Schell, Mike Adkins, Jim and Ann Davenport of J & A Ministries, Gaylon Taylor of Faith on the Move Ministries, Darrell Spicer of Channel 21 Ministries, along with many of the Chaplains of Channel 21 Ministries will be here.

The Cowardly Evangelist

posted Dec 11, 2013, 3:14 PM by Sam Newberry   [ updated Dec 11, 2013, 3:19 PM ]

A whole lot of people who go by the name of Christian have never said a word about the Gospel to a single person, even after being a Christian for years and years.  And it shames them.  I know.  It shamed me too for years.  I prayed and prayed and prayed for victory to have the courage to witness.  I got failure after failure and condemnation upon condemnation from the accuser of the brethren.  “If I really believed in Jesus, I’d say it.  If I was really saved, I’d do it.  I’m shy.  I don’t know what words to say.  I don’t know the Bible like I should or like others do.  I can’t memorize Scriptures.  What if they ask a question I can’t answer.  I freeze up and can’t think of what to say. I don’t want to make a fool of myself or look like an idiot or, even worse, shame Christ because I’m such a poor testimony.”  I know all the arguments.  I’ve been to that same place and got that same T-shirt more times than I care to tell about.  Have you used I don't know how to witness, I don't feel called to do evangelism.  That is the work of the evangelist and pastor,  I'm too busy to do evangelism, - my job, my family, and my church activities occupy all my time, I witness at my job and to my friends and family, or my life is a witness, it’s never worked for me – nobody ever listened or believed.  I did not feel led to witness to that person.

I’ve used more than those.  Any excuse will do.  As I’ve gotten older, my health has been a very useful excuse.  In 1993, I suffered a complete physical, emotional, and mental breakdown.  I was completely incapacitated for 7 years.  How about that one?  Can you top it?  I am certified in 5 counties in Texas as being mentally incompetent and have been officially disabled by the federal government since 1993.  In 2013, I had a stroke, came close to dying.  Do you have that excuse.   Friends, I do not believe you’ve got an excuse that I can’t top.

So, I want to tell you about the worst Christian witness I’ve ever heard of.  This guy was the cowardly lion of Christian witnesses.    And he had the best qualifications ever but preaching the Gospel person to person literally shook him to the ground.  He had the equivalent of a Christian education, then Bible School and Seminary education.  He studied under the foremost recognized Biblical scholar of his time.  He was recognized officially as the finest and most pious person in his religion.  Then he got saved.

He has testified about his experiences -  he got physically weak and visibly shook when he engaged someone about the Gospel person to person.  He was scared to death;  he was a wreck.  Have you ever gotten the cold sweats and got nervous because you were already nervous.  This went on for decades of his life, well into what we consider the successful parts of his ministry.

He didn’t stutter as far as I know, but he could hardly get his words out of his mouth, even with all his training and education.  He forgot what to say and stumbled over his words.  AND he knew the Gospel better than anyone else before or since. And he probably had more experience of preaching the Gospel in more different kinds of situations than anyone else ever has, in multiple countries and even different cultures types.

He personally met Jesus when he was born again and talked to him in person, visually seeing Him on a number of occasions.  Well, you might have guessed it by now that I’m telling you about the Apostle Paul.  Paul the Apostle to the Gentiles, personally selected by the Lord Jesus for that position and role was The Cowardly Lion of Evangelism.

He told the Corinthians in his first letter “3 And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling.”   1 Corinthians 2:3   “Weakness” there means  feebleness (of mind or body); by implication, malady; morally, frailty – He was about to fall down.  “Fear” there means alarm or fright and is translated as ‘terror’ in 3 verses in the King James Version.  In Greek it’s the word phobos from which we get the word phobia, as in claustrophobia – that paralyzing fear of enclosed places that terrorizes a person into states of insanity.  “Much trembling” means quaking with fear – visibly shaking with uncontrollable tremors.

Then Paul writes in verse 4 “4 And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:”  The words he used and even the thought processes behind them were not confident and persuasive.  His preaching was a mess, unable to impress anyone.  The Holy Spirit’s demonstration of power in the conviction and conversion of the Corinthians was in spite of Paul’s presentation, not because of it!!!!

Now this is the Apostle to the Gentiles, specially selected by God for that position before he was even born, if you believe Galatians 1:15-16.  This is the man knocked to the ground by a bright light and met Jesus personally at his conversion, blinded but hearing His voice plainly.  This was a man with greater education in Judaism than everyone else own age.  His rabbinical training was impeccable.  He knew the Scriptures inside and out.

What in the world came over him when he got to Corinth???  This wasn’t his first day on the job, folks.  He got to Corinth 20 years after his conversion on the road to Damascus.  He was born again probably in 34 A.D. and met Barnabas in 46 A.D. in Tarsus.  Those 12 years he had spent in study and prayer.  Jesus Himself was revealing mysteries to him that had never before been revealed to anyone else.  No other apostle got these revelations from the Lord Jesus.  No Old Testament prophet knew any of these things.

He wasn’t a newby just starting out in the Christian life, folks.  And Corinth wasn’t his first try at sharing the Gospel either.  So, what’s the story?  After meeting Barnabas in 46 A.D. they went to Antioch where they spent a year preaching and establishing the church there according to Acts 11:26.  They trained others in evangelism.  They traveled to Seleucia and Cyprus then to Salamis and Paphos, to Perga and Pamphylia, Antioch of Pisidia, Iconium, Lystra, Derbe, well, you get the idea!  And he was making disciples all along the way.  Finally, in 51 -52 A.D. he made it to Corinth.  He had preached all over by then, been persecuted in all kinds of ways.  He was stoned to death at Lystra and came back to life.  This man Paul wasn’t a raw recruit here.  He’d been over the  mountains, down the raging rivers, and sailed the wide seas.  In Christian experience he was what a Special Forces warrior would have called a snake eater.

But now he gets to Corinth and later tells the true story there in 1 Corinthians 2:3-4.  But get this, folks. Ten years later after more adventures and experiences than can be told in such a short space, he writes to the Ephesians where he had been in 53 A.D. on his second missionary journey.  In 61 A.D. he writes the letter to the Ephesians.  This is now almost 30 years since he was saved.  It’s 10 years after being so frazzled in Corinth.  Now he’s the grizzled veteran of the spiritual wars, right???  Paul is the seasoned warrior, tested, proven, right???  Toughened, trained, and experienced to the height of all possible training, right???  No more jitters or nerves, right???  Nope.

What do you read in your own Bible in Ephesians 6:18-20???  YOU go read it in your own Bible.  I’ve read it in 18-20 different translations and I hear desperation for the prayer support of the Ephesians like it’s his first time ever.

18 Pray in the Spirit in every situation. Use every kind of prayer and request there is. For the same reason be alert. Use every kind of effort and make every kind of request for all of God's people.  19 Also pray that God will give me the right words to say. Then I will speak boldly when I reveal the mystery of the Good News. 20 Because I have already been doing this as Christ's representative, I am in prison. So pray that I speak about this Good News as boldly as I have to.”  God’s Word for the Nations, Ephesians 6:18-20

18 through every prayer and petition, praying in every season in the Spirit, being watchful to this same thing with all perseverance and petition concerning all the saints— 19 and for me, that utterance may be given to me in the opening of my mouth, to make known with boldness the mystery of the gospel, 20 for the sake of which I serve as an ambassador in chains; that in it I may speak boldly, as I must speak”  English Majority Text Version 2011,  Ephesians 6:18-20

18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; 19 And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel, 19 For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.”  King James Version, Ephesians 6:18-20

18 Pray in the Spirit at all times. Pray with all kinds of prayers, and ask for everything you need. To do this you must always be ready. Never give up. Always pray for all of God's people.  19 Also pray for me--that when I speak, God will give me words so that I can tell the secret truth about the Good News without fear. 19I have the work of speaking for that Good News, and that is what I am doing now, here in prison. Pray that when I tell people the Good News, I will speak without fear as I should.”  The Easy-to-Read Version, Ephesians 6:18-20

He’s saying, “Please, please, please pray for me so that I’ll speak up boldly instead of still being the cowardly lion.  And please pray for me so that I’ll know exactly what to say, instead of stumbling over my own tongue. Please help me here.  I’m in prison for preaching the Gospel and I need help to speak without fear.”

After all these many years, seeing the Lord Jesus appearing before his own eyes, having the mysteries hidden from everyone else since the foundation of the world revealed just to him, sharing the Gospel innumerable times all over the Mediterranean Sea region, having been taken into Heaven and heard things that he couldn’t explain or express, seeing thousands of thousands of people believe the Gospel he told …  even after all that he had seen and done, he still pleads for prayer support for the very same reasons that hinder you when you try to witness to someone.  This is the Apostle to the Gentiles, folks, he’s still  the Cowardly Lion of Evangelism.

So, what do you think now about your obligation and troubles trying to share the Gospel???  Do you still think you can’t do it?

Well, guess what?  You absolutely cannot do it on your own.  This is the cutting edge of spiritual warfare.  If you’re not walking by the Spirit, you’re going be taken out.  If you do walk by the Spirit, you can have the success, the victory just like Paul did.  Folks, five times the Word of God says that the justified ones live by faith.  Colossians 2:6 says, “As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him:”  You were helpless when you were born again.  The Lord Jesus did it all for you, to you, in you, and around you. On his own, Paul was helpless, prey to the attacks from the evil ones.

Living the Christian life, the Victorious Christian life, happens the same way as salvation, by faith.  You were helpless.  You’re still helpless apart from Him.  Fully rely on God – be a F.R.O.G. as my wife says.  You just do what you’re told and leave the outcome to God.

Your weakness is proof positive that Satan and his hordes are terrorized by your preaching.  That’s the reason you are under such fearful attack.  The Gospel is the cutting edge of the Word of God and they can’t stand it.  The only defense they have is to try to deceive you into not standing on the promises and obeying Him.

Be a F.R.O.G. like Paul was.  Go ahead and stutter or get confused or say the wrong things in your confusion. The battle is the Lord’s.  It’s the Holy Spirit’s job to convince them of sin and righteousness and judgment. It’s His job to give them repentance from their own good works and turn them in faith to God and the finished work of Christ on the cross, to electroshock them into life out of death by their iniquities and sins.  You just tell the old, old story you know so well.  And if you’re saved, you know it.

When you get the heeby-jeebies about sharing the Gospel, remember Paul’s words 30 years after getting saved when he wrote to the Ephesians.  That’s part of the fellowship of His sufferings, folks.  Spiritual intimidation is the name of the game for the evil ones – it’s all they got.  Tell them to shove it and get on with job one.  Don’t put up with that nonsense from them.  Greater is He that is in you than any of them and all of them put together, even with their boss tossed into the pot too.

I love 1 Corinthians 2:8 – “8 which none of the rulers of this age understood (for had they understood, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory).”  When they arranged for the Jews to condemn Jesus and convince the Romans to crucify Him, they, those rulers of this age, i.e. the minions of Satan, arranged their own damnation for all time.  They crucified the Lord of glory and are now terrorized by the words of Jesus in Revelation 1:18 – “18 am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.”

Rejoice, rejoice, O Christian,
Lift up your voice and sing
Eternal hallelujahs
  To Jesus Christ the King!

He lives, He lives, Christ Jesus lives today!
He walks with me and talks with me along life’s narrow way.
He lives, He lives, salvation to impart!
You ask me how I know He lives?
    He lives within my heart.

The fear and weakness you feel when you want to share the Gospel is not yours.  It belongs to the demons of Satan and they cannot escape it.   When you feel it, rejoice.  Rejoice O Christian.

Learn the joys of sharing the Gospel.  Go read 1 Corinthians 16:15.  The message comes out most clearly in the King James Version where it reads, 15 I beseech you, brethren, (ye know the house of Stephanas, that it is the first fruits of Achaia, and that they have addicted themselves to the ministry of the saints,)”  If you do it enough, you too will find that you have addicted yourself to the ministry of the saints.  The word addiction in 1611 did not have the same connotations it has today in the 21st century, but the meaning is the same.  Tasso, the Greek word translated as addicted, pronounced tas'-so means to arrange in an orderly manner, i.e. assign or dispose (to a certain position or lot).  Addicts and alcoholics today arrange their lives around their next fix or drink.  Their drug of choice controls their every action to satisfy their addiction to it.  But their addiction destroys them in the process.  Addiction to the ministry causes you to arrange your life to provide the opportunity to serve the risen Saviour at every opportunity.  He enriches your life and rewards His servants and makes being a minister of reconciliation a joy.  Consider 2 Corinthians 5:14-19 - “14 For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead: 15 And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again. 16 Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more. 17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. 18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; 19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.”

Go get addicted my friends.  You’ll never, never regret it.

Spiritual Dominoes - THE REST OF THE STORY

posted Apr 29, 2013, 4:25 PM by John Noel

Spiritual Dominoes

Here’s a contemporary story about how God uses the Body of Christ - Like a line of dominoes, one touching and affecting the next in line – all over the world.  We never know what plans God has for us and how He will use us.  The Lord Jesus is the Head of the Body and, when we simply trust and obey, He does amazing things.

A powerful children’s ministry in Pompano Beach FL is the first domino.  They produce a number of materials and publish other materials from other folks.  They end up with some materials that they are no longer producing sitting in a warehouse.

Well, they have a board member up in Michigan.  He knows a guy who founded and operates a ministry that distributes Bibles, CD's, Christian Books, and other encouraging and evangelistic materials.  It started with supplying truck stop ministries.

Well, then this fellow, just another member of the Body of Christ, let’s call him John, knows Herb.  Herb heard from Richard some months ago when he was looking for Bibles to distribute to truckers in a backwater place in northeast Texas.  So, Herb who is associated with a Bible publishing ministry puts John and Richard together because John can get the Bibles and other stuff to Richard using truck drivers in an informal network.  John and Herb are in Michigan.

So, John puts Rich and Richard together because Rich has got a trucking route that begins in Michigan, goes to a truck drivers ministry supplier in East MemphisAR, then goes to ArlingtonTX.  Well, Richard lives just south of his route to Arlington and he can pick up the stuff from Rich as he passes through Sulphur Springs,TX

So, Rich is just a lowly truck driver.  He’s only one domino in a long chain of dominoes.  He’s the one who got me to thinking about this whole thing.  So, stay with me here.  Rich has got no great international ministry. Neither does Richard.  He’s just a disabled, crippled up mental defective who God has chosen to use.

Rich is a nice guy, loves the Lord, happy to be a domino.  He’s a great believer in the Lord Jesus and wants God to use him.  Even though Rich does not have a great international ministry, has never preached the Gospel to thousands, Jesus of Nazareth, the Word of God, wrote this about Rich in 2 Corinthians 3:4-6, “4 And such trust have we through Christ to God-ward: Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God; Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament …”

Those words “hath made … able” are one Greek word that means to enable, to qualify.  Just so you can understand the context.  It’s the verb form of the adjective in verse 5 that is translated “sufficient” and the noun in verse 5 translated “sufficiency”.  The word is used in only one other place in the New Testament – Colossians 1:12, where Paul said that “12 Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light.”  Just as God the Father “hath made us meet” to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light, He “hath made us able” to be his ministers.  He qualified us and enabled us to become children of God and He also qualifies us and enables us to be ambassadors for Christ!!!!!

Rich never went to seminary.  He’s not world renowned evangelist.

But without Rich, the rest of the story would never happen.

Rich is the rest of the story.

I want you to see how God has and is using Rich, an indispensable part of this story, to accomplish His work. Rich delivered a bunch of children’s material to Richard.  It came from John, who operates a nation wide ministry, who received it from the international children’s ministry.

Some of that material is now in Jose’s hands.  He’s the pastor of a Spanish church out in the country near to that backwater town in northeast Texas.  Jose has a powerful children’s ministry with the area’s Hispanic population.  Jose is about to become the recipient of much, much more material - videos, magazines, pamphlets, etc. to reach more children.

Jose has a friend, a brother in Christ, who has a mission into Mexico that also focuses on children’s ministries. He is about to start receiving materials from that big international children’s ministry as well.

And arrangements are being made right now to get even more of these materials to a missionary to Zambia inAfrica.  The missionary is a doctor.  Richard’s wife worked for her a few years ago.  Her name is Erin.  Erin and the group with whom she works, another international children’s ministry, go to an orphanage in Zambia. She’s seen the materials and is all kinds of excited about getting those materials to “her kids” there.

But there is one indispensable domino in all that chain.  Right there the line of dominoes would have failed to deliver these evangelistic, teaching, encouragement, and training materials into Mexico and Zambia if that domino had not been faithful to do what God has set him to do.  Rich.

One day, Rich will stand at the Bema Judgment Seat of Christ, along with that unnamed usher at the Mordecai Ham evangelistic event (remember him?  he’s the one who turned Billy Graham back to take a seat?  Billy Graham would not have been saved that night without him.)  and he will hear Jesus say, “21 … Well done, thougood and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.”  Rich, the ruler of many things!!!!  Rich, the lowly truck driver, who is considered to be among the last in this world’s status, will be among the first in that world’s status!!!!!  Who pays attention to a truck driver?  There’s something 6 million commercial truck drivers in the U.S. – he’s literally just one in 6 million, just another truck driver … except that he is a truck driver for Jesus!  The Lord Jesus qualified him for the ministry, made him, is making him an able minister for His service.

The question is Are you being faithful to what God has called you???  You might be the one domino that is missing.  When you stand at the Bema Judgment Seat of Christ, what do you want to hear?  Do you want to stand next to Rich and an unnamed usher and hear, “21 … Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.”?

Well, be the light in the place where God has placed you.

Have you ever heard of Edward Kimball?  Not many have.  Do you know that Billy Graham would not have been saved and would not have preached for all those years, influencing millions across the world in stadiums, on television, and through books without Edward Kimball.  And they never met.

1854 was the turning point in the life of a 17 year old boy working in a shoe store in Boston.  That 17 year old knew Edward Kimball.  Kimball was his Sunday School teacher.  One day, Kimball felt urged to talk to the boy, so he went to the shoe store.  He said something like, “Hey, I’m worried about you. I want to talk.” So, they went into the basement to do just that.  In his biography, D.L. Moody traced his conversion to that conversation.

Moody went on to become one of the world’s most influential evangelists.  He preached to over 100 million people in AmericaEnglandScotland, and Ireland.  He founded the Moody Bible Institute and MoodyMemorial Church in Chicago.

Moody went on to influence a man named F.B. Meyer, a London pastor and an intellectual who preached religion. Meyer’s congregation told him that they wanted this newly famous evangelist, Moody, to come speak to them. So, Meyer reluctantly agreed to let his congregation bring in Moody.

When Moody showed up, Meyer immediately took a dislike to him.  He didn’t like him because Moody was not dressed very well, and because he was poorly educated and sounded like it.  Meyer had doctorates, and he was brilliant, but was ashamed of the name of Jesus.  But, Moody got up to preach and he focused on Jesus, Jesus, Jesus.

Hundreds were saved there in Meyer’s church under the preaching of Moody.  Meyer was embarrassed and consumed with jealousy and anger.  A couple of weeks later, one of his Sunday School teachers told him, “You know, I used to focus on all kinds of stuff and never focused on Jesus, but Moody taught me to focus on Jesus. So, I’ve been focusing on Jesus over these last two weeks and I want to tell you about this boy who accepted Jesus during my class.”

As he told the story, Meyer began to weep.  The Holy Spirit broke through; he was convicted and supernaturally changed.  For the rest of his life, he preached Jesus to all who would listen.

J. Wilbur Chapman was not converted at one of Moody's meetings.  However, while a student at Lake ForestCollege in the late 1870s, he attended a Moody meeting in Chicago.  After the service he received personal counseling from Moody that helped him to receive certainty of his (Chapman's) salvation.  (that’s the way it used to be before “say this prayer with me”)  Later Chapman became a friend and co-worker of Moody's.

Billy Sunday, a famous baseball player in the 1880’s, grew up in an orphanage.  He was saved at a street corner meeting held by the famous Pacific Garden Mission in Chicago.  Sunday later worked for Chapman for a short time as an assistant, organizing his evangelistic meetings.

Sunday had held an evangelistic campaign in Charlotte in 1924 and a men's prayer and fellowship group, originally known as the Billy Sunday Layman's Evangelistic Club and later renamed as Charlotte Businessmen's Club (CBMC), grew out of those meetings.

This group was later instrumental in inviting Mordecai Ham to Charlotte for his 1934 meetings.  Ham was born on a farm in Kentucky.  He moved to Chicago, where he engaged in business from 1896-1900.  In December 1900, he closed the business to devote full-time to the ministry.   He entered the ministry in 1901 and in 1936 began a radio broadcast reaching into seven southern states.  Ham concentrated on the larger cities of Texas, where he had witnessed the greatest numerical success.  He had great success also in TennesseeNorth Carolina, and Oklahoma.  It was in CharlotteNorth Carolina that Billy Graham was saved in 1934.

Do you see the domino effect?  Kimball influenced Moody, who influenced Meyer, who influenced Chapman, who influenced Sunday, who influenced Ham, who introduced Graham to Jesus in 1934.  The chain began in 1854.

Billy Graham was "sowing his oats," as lots of us have done. He had a 16-year-old buddy, and they were just hanging out when they thought, “Hey, let's go into this tent and hear what this whacko has to say.”

So they were just clowning around when they went into that tent.  The story about what happened goes like this.  Once inside, they realized that there was no room for them; they couldn’t find any seats.  So Billy said to his buddy, “Let's get out of here.”  As they turned to leave, an usher standing there saw them and said, “Hey, guys.”  He put his big arms around their shoulders and said, “You know, hey, welcome. We’re so glad you’re here. Let me take you to a seat.”  So, the usher took them to a seat and the rest is history.

And so, an unnamed usher continued the chain.  Billy Graham met the Lord Jesus that night.  That usher could never have known how God was using him that night through his simple yet faithful service.  I do believe we’ll get to meet that man, who was faithful in little, who will be given great recognition at the Bema Judgment Seat of Christ.  The jewels in that man’s crown will be something to behold!!!!  Not because he had a part in the great Billy Graham’s conversion, but because he was simply faithful to what the Lord Jesus put him to doing that night.

Not many of us become world renowned evangelists or pastors or teachers.  “24 For our comely parts have no need: but God hath tempered the body together, having given more abundant honour to that part which lacked:25 That there should be no schism in the body; but that the members should have the same care one for another.”  1 Corinthians 12:12-25  Remember Jesus said the first shall be last and the last first.

It may be that you get the honor to stand next to Edward Kimball and that unnamed usher from a meeting inCharlotteNC and toss your crown at the feet of Jesus.

So, serve the Lord Jesus every moment of every day.  You may never know what God is doing through you.  “17And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him. … 23 And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; 24 Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.” Colossians 3:17, 23-24

Start your own domino effect for the Lord Jesus!

Hand out a Gospel tract.  Get some and walk up to people wherever you’re going and simply ask them, “Have you gotten one of these yet?”  Rarely have I ever been turned down.  When you pass one of those folks at the exit to Walmart asking for help, pass along a dollar or two wrapped in a Gospel tract.  When you’ve got a doctor’s appointment, stick a Gospel tract under the windshield wipers of a few cars.  If you don’t know where to get good Gospel tracts, write me and I’ll tell you about several places to choose from.

Get some pocket Gospels of John from the Pocket Testament League.  You’ll find them on the internet or write back to me and I’ll put you in touch with them.  Or get in touch with Bearing Precious Seed Ministry.  They print booklets of John and Romans that I do the same thing with as I do with Gospel tracts.  They are marked with verses underlined to be read in order.  Take to carrying some John/Romans with you and hand them out. Tell the people that God has written them a personal message and you want them to have it.  The underlined passages lead them through the Gospel in Romans and then the Gospel of John.  Powerful stuff, folks!!!

Do a kind deed.  Somebody drops some papers.  You bend over and help them pick them up.  Tell them, “Bless you in the name of Jesus.”

Say thank you.  A waitress serves your meal.  Tell him or her, “Thank you in the name of Jesus.”

We, the saints of God, are the only ambassadors He has down here.  If we don’t speak up, do you think anyone else will?  So, I pray for you today that you will boldly declare the Gospel in words and actions.

THE POOL OF SILOAM  -  For years Bible skeptics and many liberal Bible scholars said the pool did not
exist.  They were proven wrong when it was accidentally uncovered in June 2004 while workers were
digging to repair a sewage pipe in the Old City of Jerusalem.  It is the place that Jesus healed the blind man
who was commanded to wash his eyes in the Pool of Siloam.  John 9:1-11  The area was sealed off for
months but was reopened for more excavation in 2005, and steps were exposed on one side of the Pool.
Four first century coins were found in the mortar of the stone steps and 12 other coins were found in the
corner of the pool.  Uncovering the whole pool is hampered by the southern side being under the control of
the Greek Orthodox Church.

The prophesy was made in Isaiah 52:6-9, Jeremiah 3:14-18, Zechariah 14:2 that Jerusalem would be back
in Jewish hands someday in the future.  This prophecy came true on June 7, 1967, after more than 25
centuries.  In the wake of the Six-Day War in June 1967, Jerusalem was reunited. Jews around the world
were overwhelmed by the nature of Israel's victory against all odds.  Many saw the return to the Old City
and the Wailing Wall as an event of miraculous proportions.
Another prophesy that goes along with this one is in Ezekiel 37:17 and Jeremiah 3:18 which state that the
Northern Kingdom, Israel, and the Southern Kingdom, Judah, would someday become one nation again.
History verifies that prediction also came true in 1967.

ANCIENT MANUSCRIPTS - the Dead Sea Scrolls are the oldest copies yet found of almost all of the books
of the Old Testament.  They show them to be 99.5% the SAME as the Bible we have today!  Some of The
Dead Seas Scrolls can now be seen on the Internet.  Here is one of the many sites that have pictures of the
Scrolls and information about them...

There are about 8,432 verses in the Bible that are prophetic - about 27% of the Bible.  A good
example of one of these is when Daniel prophesied that Babylon would be conquered by the Medo-
Persians, and that they would then be conquered by the Greeks, and that the Greeks would later be
conquered by the Romans.  Daniel 2:28-45, 7:1-28, 8:1-27, 10:1-45  World history shows that this happened just
as he predicted.  Daniel prophesied many other things that came true.  He also predicted something that is
yet to happen in the future…
…and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation…  Daniel 12:1
Jeff Solwold does a great job of explaining about some of the less obvious predictions that Daniel made.
IF YOU HAVE TIME to listen and if your computer plays pod cast, below is a link to one of Jeff’s talks…
Click on the link, and the whole book of Daniel comes up.  As soon as it shows up, go down to
Daniel 11:1-35 near the bottom.  They are all good, but this talk gives a lot of the less obvious predictions.

Ancient history carved in stone - THE ARCH OF TITUS is a stone arch that was built as a victory
banner for the Romans, and it is still standing after more than 1900 years.  The carved relief on the arch
shows items the Romans took from the Temple when they destroyed it in AD 70.  This verifies what Jesus
prophesied about 40 years earlier - that the temple would be destroyed.  Matthew 24:1-2

Reason To Believe the Bible # 1

These last few months have been a time of great blessing.  As we started helping to distribute Bibles we have also been putting out CDs and tracks.  We have partnered with Ted Betz of GOD CHANGED MY LIFE MINISTRIES and we have been putting out the tracks he has been sending in print.  Here is the first of series:

The prophesy - promise from God - was made in Ezekiel 11:17, 34:13, 36:24, 37:21, and in Isaiah 11:11-12
that Israel would be back in their homeland someday in the future.  This was fulfilled on May 14th, 1948,
when Israel became a nation again after more than 2,500 years.  Ezekiel 39:28 and Jeremiah 23:3
prophesied that God would gather the Jews again to their own land.  There were 650,000 Jews in Israel
when it became a nation in 1948.  As of August 2010, there were about 5.5 million Jews back in Israel.
That number in 2012 is about 5.8 million.
